What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is an experience of meditation guided by sound or music.
Also referred to as sound meditation, it calms the mind and body and promotes an overall sense of well-being.
At the beginning of each session, we give a brief overview of how to approach the meditation and start with some breathing exercises. Then we invite participants to lie down on their yoga mat, close their eyes, and stay present while listening to the sounds.
In our signature sound baths, we focus on a combination of crystal singing bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, and various types of gongs. All singing bowls are tuned to specific musical notes and have a relaxing effect, while gongs add powerful tones to the sound experience and have a releasing effect. We also incorporate frame drums, ocean drums, chimes, and other ancient and tribal instruments.
The resulting symphony of sounds eases the mind into a relaxed brainwave state and allows the body to restore its natural balance.
