RITUAL - Embodying the Tarot Archetypes of Shadow Season - Sunday, October 22, 2023 - 5-8pm - $99
White Light Sounds is partnering with Lisa De La O Wyman of Tarot for Empowerment for an Archetypal Tarot Workshop that reflects the cooling season.
In the workshop Lisa will walk us through the energies of the season, which will just be transitioning into Scorpio and deep autumn. We will explore the themes of this time, and what psychoanalyst Carl Jung described as the "shadow . . . an unconscious aspect of the personality that the conscious ego does not identify in itself." While this facet of ourselves can be a source of complexity and conflict, it also holds tremendous power and creativity. By identifying and becoming acquainted with this part of ourselves, we can engage with it in a healthier and more effective way.
Lisa will lead a pathfinding meditation that takes us into the experience of "being" one of the Major Arcana Tarot cards. Embodiment allows us to access the energy of archetypes by finding ourselves within them. You really do possess the discernment of Justice, the vitality of Lust, the wisdom of the Hermit, and the spiritual awareness of the High Priestess.
After this revealing meditation, each participant will then pull their own card and relate to it as a key for understanding their own shadow. Depending on comfort level, we will each share any thoughts, feelings, or intuitive insights we are receiving around the card. Everything is welcome - whether you love the card or don’t understand how it relates to you and everything in-between. This sacred circle of exploration and exchange is about connecting to your personal power through embodiment, where connection goes beyond an intellectual exercise and becomes a sensory experience.
The Tarot journey will be followed by a meditative sound bath facilitated by Kristin White, which features crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, Native American flute, drums, and chimes.
Please bring the items you need to lie down comfortably for an hour, including a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, and eye mask.
Doors open 5-10 minutes early so that you may settle in. We will begin at the scheduled start time. And, oh yeah…we’ll have yummy snacks.
