Frequently Asked Retreat Questions:

What is the retreat house like?

This year I've rented a beautiful retreat home overlooking Joshua Tree National Park with a pool, jacuzzi, firepit, Wi-Fi, huge kitchen, outdoor dining and yoga pavilion, and a lot of desert style.

What about the food?

Breakfast and dinners are included in the cost of the retreat and lunches are on your own with many great cafes and restaurants to choose from.

The exact menu is always one of the last things to be determined because it is based on the needs of the group, but do not doubt that it will be delicious and can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and other food needs. I will post the menu about a week out from the retreat. Breakfasts frequently include fresh bagels & croissants, chia seed pudding with fruit and homemade granola (my mom's famous recipe), yogurt, and quiche. Dinners are either prepared at the house or ordered in and usually include a Thai, Mediterranean, and Italian night.

I'm not sure if I want to come alone. Does anyone else come without a friend?

This is one of the most surprising things to me about my retreats...most women come alone. In fact, out of the last three retreats I hosted, only one set of friends was at each retreat, so don't let being by yourself hold you back at all. We'll all become friends very quickly.

Do I have to participate in all the activities? I can't stay Sunday night - Is that ok?

You can participate in any and all activities, or just choose the ones that resonate most with you. I will say that most people participate in most activities and there is built in time to do your own thing, be it rest or shop or hike or hop into the jacuzzi. Here is a link to the itinerary for you to get a feel for what's in store:   https://whitelightsounds.com/sound-healing-itinerary

The activities of the retreat will conclude early Sunday evening, because some of you have to return home Sunday night, but you are welcome to stay until check out at 10am on Monday morning.

I'm new to meditation. Will it be hard?

I will fully explain the approach and the benefits of each meditative practice. This retreat will benefit experienced meditators and newbies. Click here to see the six meditation practices we will explore during the retreat: https://whitelightsounds.com/six-meditation
