Beloved poet Mary Oliver has an extraordinary way of using the natural world to remind us what it means to be human. Beginning with her iconic poem Wild Geese, we’ll explore belonging, self-acceptance, and the exhausting idea that we must somehow earn our place in the world. This guided meditation invites you to set down the invisible scorecard, return to your body and remember that you are already part of something much larger. Then we’ll let the words fall away into sound.
During the sound bath, you will relax into these nourishing feelings as you journey inward. Your meditation will be supported by the sounds of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, drums, chimes, and other ancient instruments.
This session is part one of Between the Lines, our October series exploring four poets, four distinct themes, and four different paths inward through poetry, guided meditation, and sound. Please make a reservation is required as space is limited.
Please bring the items you need to lie down comfortably for an hour, including a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, and eye mask.
