Guided writing prompts generate a creative flow that can be therapeutic and transformative. Often referred to as "stream of consciousness" or "free writing," flow writing is a meditative practice that involves continuous, unfiltered writing without concern for grammar, structure, or coherence. It's a creative and introspective process that can serve as a form of meditation.
In flow writing, you set aside any inhibitions or self-criticism, allowing your thoughts and feelings to flow freely onto the page. The benefits include:
· Mindfulness: Flow writing encourages being present in the moment. As you focus on your thoughts and the act of writing, you become more aware of your inner world.
· Emotional Release: It provides a safe space to express your emotions, helping you process and release pent-up feelings, anxieties, and stress.
· Creative Exploration: Flow writing can unearth hidden creativity. As you let your thoughts flow, you might discover new ideas, insights, and perspectives.
· Self-Reflection: The unfiltered nature of flow writing allows for honest self-reflection. You can gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, motivations, and desires.
· Stress Reduction: This meditative practice can be soothing, reducing stress and promoting mental clarity.
It's a journey into the depths of your consciousness, where you can explore, heal, and grow.
Following the writing, Kristin will lead a sound bath where you will focus on the sounds of high vibe instruments including crystal & Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, Native American flute, chimes, and drums. You will relax on a mat and allow the vibrations to resonate within your body and mind. This type of meditation is believed to reduce stress, promote deep relaxation, and balance energy centers in the body. It's particularly known for its ability to induce a sense of tranquility and well-being.
Please bring a yoga mat, pillow, eye mask blanket, and an (optional) crystal or other high vibrational object to place on the alter during the ceremony - you will get it back! We will be sitting on the floor for the first hour and a half, so please bring anything else that will contribute to your comfort, like a bolster to sit on or a meditation cushion or chair.
Journals and pens will be provided, however, please feel free to bring your own favorite journal or pen. As always, there will be yummy snacks.
This will be a small group event limited to around 10 people for the writing portion of the workshop. Doors open 10 minutes before the event starts so that you can settle in.
See you in the circle!
